My thougts for this Video Game are exciteful and creative. I think that whoever made this Video Game, had the best idea ever because it really makes sense but it would be better if the game could show the purpose. Now that I've seen this it makes me want to create a video game just exactly like their animation. They did a pretty good job on the animation. It really grabs people's attention to it. Now that I've seen it, it makes me want to play it already. I can't wait to get it. I wonder what's their purpose to the creation of this game is?

When I have free time I don't usually play games. I only play games when I have a short amount of time. Sometimes when I do play games in my free time, I try to enjoy most of it.

Which ones do you play and why are they your favorite?
I don't play all kinds of games. I only play action games and girl games.I play them because they make me be active. The reason why they are my favorite is because they relate to my life.
These game topics don't give me a new perspective to other types of games because it seems like other games just don't have a purpose of itself, they don't teach you anything.

"Strange Days On Planet Earth"

Part 4

Scientists think that the world's temperature will increase from 1o degrees to 20 degrees higher becaus of Global Warming. They think that probably the aliens/food web will unwrabble to all the outer ocean . Every 3 seconds the ocean does a flip-flop/waves/water temperature. When the tides go back and forth they increase their temperatures. They are making the temperature go up so once their heart stars beating then they blow up and die because of their body temperature. Their heart starts beating when the temperature increases 2 degrees. Some people want to make or do something about it, but some don't some don't really care about it.

In the Caribbean lot's of kids are getting Asthma, before they weren't a lot of kids with Asthma but now there is, now kids are getting mistrious diseases everyday.

In Lake Chad, one of the greatest lakes of Nigeria, it's land has been gone, the water is gone already everything is dried now. They think that dust of sand is what is causing the kids to develop Asthma, dust sand flies away to other places and goes to the caribbean and that's how the kids start getting Asthma because it is also killing some of the ocean species. Now they found this disease called aspo something and they are taking it into visualization.

The North Atlanta behavior isn't good, it is being behaving bad. The weather is causing damage of the storms and all those things. It isn't being normal, usually as it supposed to be like. It's weather is being different.

Our Earth is getting warmer and wanrmer and it will keep on. It seems like people are ready to do something about it, but don't know how to and they all need to be encouraged to do something, some people might not want to do something about it.



Part 5

Caroni Valley,Venezuela--It turned into a flood and some people are rescuing animals, like about 9,000 animals have been rescued. Lake G used to be a whole are-bush of trees and greens, it was a plant life, it was a community to animals-ecosystem. On Iguana Island, they are searching for destruction, there is a lot of animals who fight a lot for food.
Their vegetation always goes down and they are left with out anything, that's what destruction does to their environment. Some animals-predators are spreading animal diseases, so they have to kill them, some animals have rabbies.
Yellowstone National Park:--World's 1st national park and it is stil remaining.- Something was wrong with the lamar river. Animal habitats have been reduced because of destruction. Now they see the difference and change of a wildlife place. Geologists think that maybe by the future they isn't going to be aspend trees anymore, because of global problems. They are saying that they are locking up and killing wolves , because they are being major predators to the animals, they are killing lot's of animals and some persons don't like that because they are needed.


They are trying to stop/kill the wolves from killing or hurting other animals, specially deers because they provide Aspen trees for us. They need us as we need them.

Some Coral Reefs are dying because of the excess of algae, the algae is causing them to be covered and don't get what they need. Once the algae has covered the coral reef it stops growing and borning naturally. Over the last 40-50 years the predatory fishes have died, they are gone. They are needed for other animals not only for some but for most of them, some animals need the predatory fish because they are it's prey.What do you think would happen if boats kept on removing predatory fish. I wonder what will happen at the end of this world or eternity?

Part 6-:Troubled waters ---- Water waste, Frog info.,

• There are lot's of types of frogs that are in danger.
• Scientists think that atrazine is one of the danger that is killing frogs. They want to know if atrazine is really the killer of frogs.
• Leopard frogs are found all over the world, specially in water bodies.
• Most of the frogs from clean,natural water are healthy and clean.
• The other frogs that are raised in atrazine are unhealthy, and hurted, they could possibly die.
• You can't eat food without water, you can't drink contaminated water, think about it?
• Mystic Aquarium, Connecuit - they are checking if whales are toxic or unhealthy, they could have some inffections.
• Inffections are often held in whales so that's why they are checking them.
• They are saying that if you mix two chemicals,they might become toxic.
• Thousandths of synthetic chemicals can cause lot's of mixtures.
• if we don't do anything about it then we can also get harmed.
• if an animal get's harmed, then we can get harmed too.

"Strange Days on Planet Earth"

We are moving ahead on global warming, we are going too far. How can we stop this? Weird days and events. A guy is looking for aliens/termines, he is not alone, he is searching the water to see if any species have landed on there, some spread disease, devaoring our

place. In new orleans aliens have attacked a home, everyday they cause something bad. They are very small but are large numbers of them that cause them to destruct. In new orleans they are everywhere, you see them everywhere, they just come up into your face and mouth. Lousiana climate is hot and sticky and it is related to the temperature of the insects, new orleans the termines go for the food, one village can be found with 10 nests of termines. They want to know if it cant be slowed down. They are going to managing these termines, they are going from one place to another and making nests. In new orleans it is easy to bring inn an alien species but it isn't easy to remove it. envadors are able to hurt them.
everyday, every minute at least 7,000 species are in motion, traveling around the ocean or somewhere.

Part 2

Northern alaska is one of the most global changes in the world, they are suffering, the region is warming more and more everyday. Each year each karaboo covers about 1000 miles. Everyday like about 10 tablespoons of blood that mosquitoes suck of animals. Lot's of karaboos are dying because of the cold weather, someday they might not even exist.

Before there used to be normal weather, not weather as hot as the one today-in the mountains-now they have added more stairs to the glaciers/mountains because of global warming. It has melted and that's what causes it. They had to built more steps because the glacier has shrinked down-cause of global warming. --- Global warming causes all these storms and bad weather, because of water evaporation. --- Green house gases have raised up to a record in the world, they are so high---- in 9 months they were able to remake their oil rigs, but now five years later, they can't---- they say that they can find fossils in the rock so that means that they can also get oil from those rocks.----- lots of people -20 billion pounds of oil or that in a year----people now a day are wasting a lot of oil, and can't leave any for the future generations----- anything that doesn't come in nature- then they are not man made, that means its dried from oil-transportation can also cause some of the problems-transportation will also need oil,,- there water isn't clean, so the water they have is dirty and it is making them sick with thysus or some other diseases, they also haven't made the hospital yet because of the things that thye can't have. they also have to wash their fish with omo to disinfect it. It is expensive to sell and transport somewhere else so they just burn it some of it is used for the cooking in nigeria.-dangerous to transport.they are only burning the oil and the people in nigeria keep on breathing in this smoke and they get more sick with lunsg and things like that. in odiama village there was a building there and prrbbly the government wanted to build more of that, prbbly a factory but the people there of the village probably didn't want to so then the military people came started to shoot people and burn down the place-actually the people of the village did it. Some people hid in the forest. Some people are trying to save the oil. A lady send a picture of a man getting shot, probably they are going to threaten them or something bad was was going to happen. Some people want to stop the wind racket, so they said no they are still going to keep it on. they think that it will be causing. This lady says that she cares for global warming and she used to be against it.

When I look at this picture I think of the sky, stars and the woods. What describes this picture is the shine of the stars, the beautiful trees and last the wonderful smoke that shines thru the sky.

Endangered Species

In the film that I just watched there were Lot's of things that I learned, that I never knew before. Well I did know but didn't know or was sure that it was happening in our world.

The film was about Endangered Species. All animals are poaching in the world. They are
poaching because of the Natural Resources that are happening to the world, some animals are used/endangered by selling or using their skin. Mostly all animals are endangered by people killing them and using their body to for use of making things. One of the 2 animals that are being used to sell or used for converting into something else are the Elephants and the amur leopard. The Elephants are being killed, by cutting off their tusks and making them into something else. The other animal is the amur leopard, they take off it's skin or fur to make it into something else.

Not all animals are being extincted by that, some of them are endangered by the natural resources that are happening to the world for example some of them are Polar Bears the reason why they are in danger is because Global Warming is causing the ice and their houses to melt down, if there's no ice then how are the Polar Bears going to live? they are going to die.

Everybody should spread the word and help save the Species that are endangered, us we need animals for some medicines and they need us as we use them too. Remember that Human Population also affects what's happening to the animals too. Help us save the Endangered Species!!.

Wiki-Social Issues


The 4 Social Issues that I am Interested in are: Suicide, Teenage Pregnancy, Child Sexual Abuse and last Girl's Health Issues.




The reason why I am interested in Suicide is because: I want to know why do people all around the world commit suicide. I kind of know the main reason why they commit suicide, but I just want to know what are the main problems why they do it. I want to stop people form committing suicide and letting them know that they are not alone and that if they have a problem bothering them they can do something about it, suicide isn't the end to a problem.




The reason why I am interested in Teenage Pregnancy is because I hate seeing young girls/teenagers having kids/being pregnant, all I want to do is stop them from doing that. Imagine all schools having the majority of girls being pregnant, isn't that awful. I can help stop this by educating teenagers or young people why are the reasons that they shouldn't get pregnant at a very young age, tell them the consequences that could happen.




The reason why I am interested in Child Sexual Abuse is because I feel bad for kids who are out there in the world and aren't treated respectfully, so I want to stop all sex offenders and violators from doing what they have done or are doing, they need to know that they need to treat a kid at its age not as something else. Some of my family members have been through this and it hurts me a lot and I would love to help spread the word to help stop this.




The reason why I am interested in Girl's Health Issues is because there are thousandths of women and young ladies who are sick from many different types of Illness and they need help, So all I want to do is help them recover from being sick. I want them to know that they are not alone they can still recover.

An Inconvenient Truth
1. My thoughts about this documentary were that it is inspiring because it gives all the problems that Global Warming is causing Earth, that way people who've watched this will know what they can do to help overcome Global Warming and go Green.

2.What I think about Global Warming is that it is affecting us as Earth and we need to do something about it before it hurts us more, when it comes to that we could die or the planet could be in danger/damage. I'm not sure if Global Warming really exists because some people say that it doesn't exist and It gets me confused, if it does exist then I really wonder why it happens.

3. The information that I heard makes me feel sad, scared and helpful the reason why I feel sad is because knowing what's happening to the world can hurt us and not know what to do! it also makes me feel helpful because we can start saving the Earth with everyone giving the Planet a helpful hand by that I mean that you can start using less light, energy and stop pollution.

4.What we can do to prevent ultimate destruction is by helping the Earth, we can start helping by cleaning up trash from Highways/Streets and using less Energy could help, turning off Lights whenever you don't need them, and last for all just help us keep Earth clean.

Science Game: Deforestation

While I was playing and exploring the science games I knew and thought that the game: Can you stop Deforestation was going to be my favorite and best game because I love spreading the word about everyone helping to stop deforestation, everybody must know the risks and what could happen if they don't spread the word about it or give a hand to our world.

The reason why I really liked this game was because the player or who ever person plays this game will know what to do after they have played this game, for example I mean that they will know what they can do after they have been done.

Something that I learned about the game was that now I should really help stop deforestation I don't want the world to be dying I wanna help and make a difference, like the said: "MAKE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD".

The thing that is cool about this game is that you have fun playing while at the same time you learn something from it-the game.

Globaria

My name is Arlette and I am a student at East Austin College Prep Academy and I am working with part of Globaloria at school, I am 12 yrs old and my thoughts about Globaloria is that it is very fun to work with except that it is kind of hard to work with when you get to the Flash part
well actually it isn't that hard its that the Flash codes and all that stuff make you become confused. Globaloria is fun and entertaining.

With Globaloria we are creating a Flash game and every game that the teams are making are made in Flash after they are done with that we are going to do a game presentation and who ever is the judge will pick the team winners and they will win.

(I think that's all that I have to say about Globaloria)

Flash: Demos
Working with the Flash Demos was kind of hard at first but now that I gave gotten through I feel more comfortable and easier with it.
At first It was very hard because my computer didn't have a timeline and that caused it to hard and understandable, but after that Ms.Miller helped us by going over it to see if everyone was good with it or had it in their wiki.
The most and only reason why I didn't understand Demo 3 was because we had to use the frames and that's hard for me to understand because you have to make them move or out stops in them. All Flash kind of confuses me but then once I have practiced over it and worked on it I get better at it.

Flash Is definitely hard for me at first but if no one tells me how to work with it then I won't really understand I can understand only if people tell me how to do it step by step. At first Flash was hard but not anymore on at the beginning of something new from Flash .

Yes, Flash was very fun to work with my favorite part of Flash is making buttons that's the easiest and funnest part of all flash.

Feelings About Flash

What has been hard for me in Flash its when I don't understand what they say because they say it too fast and that makes me loose the instructions and don't know what to do.

The second problem that I have when I'm working in Flash is when I can't find something in my Flash file that I need, to go on into the next demo.

I think that something that can be done in classroom to help me understand or learn Flash is to maybe take it easy and go step by step so none of the students get lost or don't know what to do, I say that because sometimes the teacher goes by fast and then suddenly the students are asking for help. The other way that they can do it is to give the students an agenda every day( not to forget and tell them what to do exactly by step.

I think that it is very important to remember the coding of Flash because, we are on our way to creating our game in Flash, so we totally need to remember it because then how are we going to make our game if we don't even know or remember our Flash learning's.

The other reason why it is important for you to remember the coding of Flash is because maybe next year or some other year in you re life you might need something that has to do with Flash and you know that you know some, so that will help you.

If I feel that Flash is hard now and how will I make sure that I get the training right, would be that I would stay after school with a school Flash expert (teacher,student or just someone) and tell them to teach me the whole coding of Flash.

I definitely think that I don't get distracted by distractions in the class because I always want to do everything right and not loose the instructions. Distractions don't keep me from learning it , It makes me understand better because the teacher has to deal with it and I get a little bit of time to make sure that I did the correct thing.

I think that the videos that Globaloria created for us was awesome and helpful because whenever we don't understand something when we are doing Flash than we can just go to the videos and watch them. The reason why I think they are helpful is because they do it step by step and that helps me a lot. I like teacher's to teach me step by step because it's easier for me to work with Flash. I suggest that they do this more often.

I feel great about Flash because it is so freakin cool you can do a lot of animation there, now that I have learned how to work with Flash then I'm going to buy the program to put it on my computer at home so I can get better at it.

I say a big YES! that Flash will help me on in my future because if I don't make my career as a pastry chef, than I can become a Flash expert and maybe I get a good job In flash, become a technology expert because they pay you some good cash.

It will also help me In my future because if I have kids and they are working in Flash with it maybe I can teach them the whole Flash because they'll be like me If they can't find a job or make it to their career, they'll just know that they have something that they are good at.

The other way how it will help me on in my future is that maybe I can teach my sister over the summer so she can be ready for next year and don't have any trouble with Flash.

The Globaloria Visit

At first when I entered the Globaloria room I thought it was going to be boring and fun, but no It wasn't like that It was great I really liked being with her and her instructioning us because we had been waiting for Ms.Miller to upload our Flash since yesterday, so I'm telling the truth, I really liked it because she made us get everything in our wiki page and get everything we had to do into the wiki. I did learn something from her, I learned that if we work hard and do it quickly and not get distracted we will get everything done.

I think that this will help me on my future because when ever I need to upload something to my wiki page I don't have to ask Ms.Miller about It- I just go do it by myself and then she'll be proud of me for doing this. It will also help me because when ever a student doesn't know how to upload files to their wiki, so I tell them that I can help them upload files.

At The Presentation

It was awesome and great being at the presentation. It was awesome because with the money we get, we get to have some fun by helping the community and doing our projects. Most importantly I really want to thank State Farm for all the grant that they gave us , to me that means a lot and a great gift for Eacpa, I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT THANKS A LOT-STATE FARM. With the 100 thousandth dollars we get to achieve our dreams and help ourselves achieve them. Now this is what happens we children are good and they go to the bestest school ever in town. I am very proud of the whole south west key programs inc. I think that eacpa rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are the best in town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I think that we should use the money that they gave us to accomplish our dreams. I am also very proud of Dr. Sanchez because thanks to him kids get to have a good education and go to college, He helps us go to college and get a good education. I think that every kid deserves a good education and not a school drop-out.

My team's name is Loco cinco and I really think that my group is doing a great job because when ever it comes to assignments we all put our part to finish and make things better. Yes, all of my team gets along with each other, we are all friends. We have had some issues but not big ones, only little ones for example like we forgot to update our group time line. Only like does kinds of issues. I think that our game has comed very good a long because we took our time in it and we worked hard to make it the best. I think that it is better to work in teams when you are going to do a game project because if you are by yourself than you won't have any help or ideas from people because it's only yourself, your grade. Everyday I tell my team: Look guys if we all work together and work hard on it than we will be finished and we can work on something else, it's always cool to work good with your team mates. I think that we do have a better topic because it has to do with math and that will make our game better because we have a lot of math, people will love and like our game because when the kids or players play they will learn something from it not, just who is the winner or the highest score, or who will pass to the next level. I recommend your team to work hard and do everythingright and their progress will be great and good.

I think that drawing in flash is awesome because you get to draw your drawings and experiences in another type of technology to make it better. I did learn new techniques because before I worked with Globaloria and this school i tought that we could only draw in the paint program but no, you can also draw in Flash. When ever I worked with Flash I always tought that it was only for cool video projects,but no I was wrong you can also work with some other stuff too.My subject for my game is measurement) it has to do with measuring stuff and knowing the skills of how to. The only thing that I learned about Flash is that you can do more cool stuff in Flash if you look for it. I also think that maybe if you take you're time on drawing with Flash you will be very good at this. You never know anything inside a Flash program, so I suggest that you look more into the Flash program. I really like the game subject that I'm doing because the only thing you supposed to do is measure things and know how to I think that that is pretty easy for me.

How do I feel about working with my team mates?

I feel great working with my team mates because they are hard workers specially a girl named Diana, she works a lot and tries her best to do everything better, I am really proud of her.

What was It like to re-present your paper prototypes?

It was great representing our paper prototypes because we did better than the first time. I think that if we had done a great job in the first time we wouldn't have to do the paper prototypes again. It was just great because we get to share our game ideas with the class.

Did you feel that having more time and additional direction helped you better understand how to put math into your game idea or are you still confused?

I think that having more time or additional direction was helpful for my team to add and get the game organized because if we wouldn't have time then our game wouldn't be good enough for people to know about it.

Are you confused?

I am definitely not confused because I am the team captain and I understand everything, I do my work and have followed every instruction.

What were some of you're frustrations?

Some of my frustrations were to get everyone concentrated in a crazy day.

What were some of you re' triumphant moments?

Some of my triumphant moments were the presentations that we did and designing our paper prototypes.

Team Role

The Role that I got for my team was the captain. I don't know why my team chose me as the team captain, well I do know why I think It's because I am very intelligent, well mannered and a smart student. I am very good at this job because I always do my work, follow instructions and am a very good person. I didn't really have any disagreements with my team mates because they are all understandable and good people that followed my instructions. I only had one team disagreement, It was when they said that they were going to do my game but they didn't, so they did the other game, I was so mad because I was already thinking of how to make my game but they had to disappoint me. How did I solve the problem? I just told them that It was okay but to tell me next time. What I look more forward to do in my team is to think of more sounds and affections to our game. The inspiration for my game was to make it really good, better than the other ones.

I think that paper prototype is a very fun and cool thing to work with, specially when you have to create games. I really enjoyed working with it, It's so fun to work with, I found it to be easy because you only suppose to draw what you want to be in the computer and how it's going to look. I do understand the importance of the paper prototyping in reference to my game design. It's only that you have to know how will you make it the same. What was it like to work as a team for the first time?

It was great but kind of confusing and weird. We worked hard to make a good grade. Something that I like about my team is that we are there for one another, we help each other and try our best. Something that I don't like about my team is that they are not doing my game. At first we agreed that we were going to do mines and then they didn't do it. I think that progress will be great if we all work hard together we will get to our goal. Only if we try hard.

My toughts about Globaloria are that: It's a very cool class for someone to come to and learn about it. It's a good class that is helping because what they teach us can help us on in the future. I think that It's the greatest class that I have been to and will help me on in my life.

I enjoy Globaloria because I love technology and It's a very fun class to learn about. They teach us very cool stuff for example: flash, paper prototype and some other cool stuff.
What have you learned about Globaloria
What I have learned in Globaloria is how to create accounts, some new technology that I didn't know about for example: never copy something from another webpage because that's illegal, how to work with flash and make games, how to prototype and fixing technology.

I love to blog because It's fun for me, when I blog I feel like If It's a diary or someone that I am talking to someone who I can trust and wants to listen to me.
What are you currently working on in Globaloria?
Right now In class we are working on our group games, we are doing our prototyping for our group game and then once we are done we will start doing it real with Flash. Our group game is about measurement. It is about measuring the world and some other stuff, this game will teach kids about measuring and the easiest way to understand it.
What do you look forward to learn in Globaloria?
I look forward to learn more Flash so then on in my future I have something that I am very good at. The only thing that I mostly want to learn is how to make party invitations online, how to decorate stuff and the number one is how to make a website of my own.
What is my game about?
My game is about teen pregnancy: I want people to learn about teen pregnancy, I want them to know the consequences of teen pregnancy, what will happen to them if they become teen parents. My goal is for people to love this game and be aware of teen pregnancy also learn a lot from it. I am really super excited because I'd never had done this before and it's looks so cool because I am going to do It with flash. Was it hard to make your mini game?


Making my mini game was both hard and easy to make. The hardest part to work with was with putting the score inn and finding the toolbar. Specially when I didn't follow the right directions.
The easiest part were the ones that we have already done before for example steps number 1, 2,
3 and 4. I think it was really easy for me because we have done this before.



What was the best part of this topic?


The best part of this topic was that we did get to have some fun with flash. For example I kind of learned how to work with actionscript and making it. The second thing about that was that we got to learn and experience new things that i had never done before. Now i kind of know how to work with flash and all that technical stuff.







The worst part?
The worst part in making this mini game and working with it was when my code was getting soem errors and I coyuldn't fix them. I had to get help from people who didn't wanted to help me.




Do you play games in your free time?
Sometimes I do play games when i have my free time but mostly not anymore.




Which ones do you play and why are they your favorite?
I play the girl games only and sometimes boy games but not a lot. My favorite games are red beard and crazy taxi.

Feelings About Flash

How do I feel about flash? Well I feel impressed of my self because I almost know the whole thing through flash. I think that I know how to work more with flash because we started over and did it again. I also feel that it's a great thing to work with, specially with games and other video game stuff. I think that if i learn some more flash then that will help me a lot in my future for example if i don't become a pastry chef then i just know that i have something that i am very good at which is flash that can get me a lot of help and education. Flash can sometimes be good or sometimes it can be boring. I right now feel that flash is a great thing to learn and play with. I think also that if you go through it and step by step then it will be easier and you will understand it more. The easiest way to learn of flash is by paying attention to the teacher because if you don't pay attention then you will not understand the stuff and what buttons to work with. I just feel so great that i have learned all that stuff in school because normally in other schools you don't usually work or do this kinds of stuff. I am glad that we have flash because that's the thing that we will use for our games.

My Game Ideas
My game is called Life Choices and it has to do with teen pregnancy and education, it has 3 levels which will help you learn about teen pregnancy. In the first level you choose a character and some friends. You either choose group #1 or #2 of friends, for you to be able to pass level #1 you have to make the right decisions. It will ask you questions like: How will you achieve your dream? What will help you to achieve it? Will you do this or not? Questions like that. In the second level it includes a girl’s real story in that level you have to give her some advice for you to be able to pass the level, for example how can she get help? What can you do about it? All those kinds of questions. In the third level you have to answer questions about teen pregnancy but before that it will teach you some teen pregnancy information. For every question you get correct, it’s like you have saved a teen from being a teen parent. At the en of the game when you have finished it will give you some statistics and some good websites that have information about teen pregnancy for those who need help. I think that people should play my game because it has to do with life simulation which will inform teens about the consequences of becoming a teen parent. I want players of my game to learn how life is when you become a teen parent, how life is so hard. I chose this topic because it has been going on for years and years and I have seen that It doesn’t stop so I really want to make a change, I want to stop it.
