Choose Learning Topic

My learning topic is Healthy Resources. I've noticed that only several grocery stores supply healthy food. For example: HEB on 183 & Springdale rarely has healthy options and on the other side HEB at Hancock has many different healthy options. It's like they're excluding a large percentage of race from eating healthy. I wonder how does HEB decided what items to distribute where. I chose this topic because It's a big problem. I find it unfair sometimes. How come east Austin doesn't have a Central Market? Why is the Government complaining about Hispanics and African Americans being the Obesity Target? Why? It's their fault, they're the ones populating low income families with fast food restaurants. It's important because many people don't have the access to healthy eating, and that is why they are reaching these diseases such as Diabetes and Heart Disease, etc. I do know of some Healthy Options around East Austin but yet their prices are so high that it doesn't make a difference. Low income families won't be able to afford the stores price.

3-D Games

From playing Malaria I learned many new Game Ingredients that I had seen but never knew of before. I learned that adding a sky to your game is considered a SkyBox in the Game Ingredient section. I definitely got some great ideas from playing Malaria. I would like to add a SkyBox to my game because that will give it a better look in order for the player to understand how the game works. I would also like to add plants and bushes, I find this a great way to hide objects and intrigue the player. The last Ingredient I would use for my game would be Sound Effects because I put myself as the player and I'd find it more entertaining if it had sound. It would kind of drag me to play it.

Course Overview

From all these years that I've been in Globaloria, I haven't created a fun, adventurous game. This year, my goal is to make a game that anyone can enjoy playing. I'm really excited for getting the chance to learn how to make a game in a different software. I know how to use Flash and now I get to meet a new type of software that many kids my age don't know anything about or won't use until they get to college. I hope I learn many new skills from this program.

Where to Get Help

There is many ways I can help my teammates in the projects page. I can help them by guiding them through an instructions page so they can understand what to do better. Another way I can help my teammate would be by having my projects page as an example for them in case they have a question. They will also be able to help me with my projects page by leading me to the help and project pages in case I need more description on a task.

My name is Arlette, I am a sophomore. I have a huge passion for the following: Writing, Photography and Volleyball. I am planning to study Law and Photocommunication, if not, then, some other type of technology. So far, I've thought of attending UT or St.Edwards for college. I do have in mind to attend a small school. This isn't my permanent decision, I might go over seas for college. This year I hope to expand my gallery. I've been working hard on my Digital Art lately so I hope to accomplish a golden key this year since I have a silver one already. I will help others with the use of Blogger by distributing information that my classmates need, such as Flash code, wiki, etc. A classmate of mine might not know how to link a URL to their blog, what I can do is write an instructional blog about the topic so they can understand how to link a URL to their blog.
