Keith Carter, a Famous Photographer

Keith Carter is a native Texan. He currently lives with his wife in Beaumont, Texas. He loves his home and enjoys focusing on small little details, revealing quirky and sublime facets of human nature. He never thought he would become a photographer, even though he grew up watching his mother crape by as she herself was a photographer. He found out he wanted to be a photographer until college when capturing an image with his mother, inspiring him to more forward, he even assisted his mother's business all around Texas and to this day he still does.He didn't have any professional training, he did most oh his work on his own, he was able to sneak some books of sculpture and photography, he learned on his own, just experimenting things from place to place. At the age of 25 was afforded the opportunity to access special archives in New York at the Museums of Modern Art for three weeks, there he learned tons of info and was able to make new experimentation's and observations. Ever since he has made Texas his home for Photography, he finds it an exotic land almost becoming an allegory. He focus are small negatives on a single-lens reflex Hasselblad camera. Limited depth of field and blurring are very so incorporated into Carter's work, this highly emphasizes area focusing making it sort of a mystery, Carter has published nine monographs including bones. He has a passion and has contributed any object as a portrait, he himself exclaims “These days I treat everything as a portrait, whether it’s a safety pin hanging from a string in a woman’s bedroom, or a man witching for water in a field. They’re the same.”

Here are some examples of his artwork
