My name is Arlette, I am a sophomore. I have a huge passion for the following: Writing, Photography and Volleyball. I am planning to study Law and Photocommunication, if not, then, some other type of technology. So far, I've thought of attending UT or St.Edwards for college. I do have in mind to attend a small school. This isn't my permanent decision, I might go over seas for college. This year I hope to expand my gallery. I've been working hard on my Digital Art lately so I hope to accomplish a golden key this year since I have a silver one already. I will help others with the use of Blogger by distributing information that my classmates need, such as Flash code, wiki, etc. A classmate of mine might not know how to link a URL to their blog, what I can do is write an instructional blog about the topic so they can understand how to link a URL to their blog.

Self reflection of a year in Globaloria

Honestly, I slacked off this year, therefore I am not completely proud of anything. Although, I'll still tell you what I did this year.

In the first semester I had trouble adding the ''Magnifying Glass'', an ingredient to my game. The coding was tremendously confusing to me, I was devastated and wanted to give up! But! I didn't. I went through the tutorial for about 10 times and finally got it! I was astonished to actually make it through the last game ingredient. I am very disappointed with myself for not entering any competition at all. I could have won something. I registered for several competitions but never finished the work on time. Actually, I am proud of something: passing this class even though my work wasn't so great this year. I know I can do better, and I haven't done so. I hope to achieve something next year............

Marijuana: The next diabetes drug?

Several studies have shown that Marijuana users are less likely to be obese. An interesting fact is that current users of Marijuana appear to have a higher carbohydrate metabolism than nonusers. Marijuana had higher levels of high-density lipoprotein, which is good cholesterol. Although Marijuana can help, they're not sure whether they are beneficial effects all the time. Health effects aren't so obvious yet.

Game Paper Prototype

Making my game paper prototype is always the best thing in making a game. Paper is where all my mind is storage. I get to draw and do exactly what my game will look like. At first I wasn't sure what the whole point of my game was, I was confused and didn't know what to do. Therefore, drawing the paper prototype helped me because I started to realize what was happening as I drew along and took the role of the future player. I also realized that I wasn't going to make sense if the player didn't know what was the main idea of the game, It could be fun but not have any educational value.

Game Learning Topic

The Game topic I chose for my game is a disorder that affects many woman. There is no cause for this disorder but it is thought to happen because of genetics. This disease is called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, it is when there is an imbalance of hormones in a women's body. 

I chose this topic because a certain person in my life is dealing with this disorder. She didn't know she had this disorder until she found out in a women's health book. The main reason why I chose this topic is because  I want to help women be aware of this disorder, maybe get a checkup because you never know if you have it. 

I will use moving to set aside the unhealthy objects that can increase your chance of developing cancer or diabetes if you are not taking care of your health. Setting aside the unhealthy objects will help the player know what not to eat in reality to stay healthy. Collecting healthy foods will let know the player what to eat and what she might want to keep in her kitchen for a better future.
